BRG has grown exponentially over the past few years, adding a number of offices and employees around the globe, and on November 19th, we celebrated the one-year anniversary of our India office.
The BRG team in India has proven an integral part of our worldwide team. In planning for this anniversary, the team wanted to mark the occasion in a special way and do more than just host an internal celebration – they wanted to do something meaningful that gave back to their community.
After much consideration, the team decided to organize and sponsor a charity event for a local non-profit organization that provides education and meals to more than 250 orphans and under-privileged children within the greater Pune area. Ravi Srivastava, BRG’s Director of Technical Support, explained that they chose this organization because of its reputation for helping kids.
“This school has worked in our community for the last 30 years, changing the lives of countless children they’ve found homeless or abandoned at bus stations, railway stations, and on the streets,” Srivastava said. “It is run purely on donations and charity from corporations and individuals, and does not receive any grants from government or outside bodies, and we wanted to help them out.”
Working with the non-profit, BRG decided to sponsor the meal of the day and donate several sport kits. The team travelled to the school in the afternoon, arriving as students gathered for assembly, and were greeted with lots of smiles and cheers by the kids (ages 2 to 17). They spent the rest of the afternoon serving lunch, eating and playing with the students, and gave away sport kits to the school.
“These kind of events in life not only enlighten our soul but also motivates us to remain positive, understand the meaning of life, and feel connected,” said Nitin Tripathi, BRG Technical QA Manager.
Safe to say, everyone – adults and children – enjoyed the experience.
